Endorsed by the UNESCO, the International Year of Light, also known as the IYL2015, is a global initiative aiming to highlight the influence of light and optical technologies in the world, and their importance for our lives and for our future.

As a major actor in light simulation, OPTIS wants to take the opportunity of the IYL2015 to spread lighting technologies. Contributing to the wide development and optimization of lighting and vision systems is for OPTIS a way to show the benefits simulation can bring to the world. By sponsoring this worldwide initiative, OPTIS also wishes to develop a durable collaboration with the United Nations, the UNESCO and all the IYL2015 community. Jacques Delacour, OPTIS’ CEO, says:

The international Year of Light is a great opportunity to share the passion of OPTIS for light and our will to adapt our activities to extended technologies. Our goal is to develop innovative projects, and encourage sustainability by finding means to enable a responsible natural light and artificial lighting management, and reduce the ecological footprint left by industries."

Finally, the International Year of Light is for OPTIS a unique opportunity to support local events linked to light development. OPTIS will organize and take part to interactive exhibitions, workshops and events related to light all over the world. Thanks to these actions, OPTIS wants to contribute to the success of the International Year of Light 2015 in France and around the world.
