Colorimetry

OPTIS ColorimetryBecause color is a fundamental part of a product’s design, manufacturers need accurate tools to predict and render realistic colors throughout the design process.

OPTIS software can help you understand how color and spectrum work in your products and systems.

With OPTIS software, you can:

  • Simulate how colors look in different light levels and lighting conditions (sunlight, artificial light, showroom)

  • Use a simple point-and-click mouse system to obtain your colors’ position in the tri-chromatic graph and the spectrum distribution

  • Analyze all colorimetric properties of your image results

  • Calculate, predict, and choose the colors you will obtain (enter sources, LED spectrums)

  • Verify compliance with standards and specifications

Color advantages of OPTIS

In 1999, OPTIS was the first company to provide colorimetric simulation software. We are committed to continually advancing our technology and currently use information from the full spectrum which provides exact color instead of a projection of the spectrum on the 3 primary colors as is obtained with an RGB approach. Most alternative solutions use the RGB approach, which relinquishes spectral components.

OPTIS software takes into account spectral transmission (transparent materials), spectral reflection (mirrors), and spectral diffusion (plaster) to calculate the real appearance of a system in any lighting environment.

ICC V4 International Color Consortium

OPTIS has adopted the International Color Consortium (ICC) standards, and applied them to its range of SPEOS Technology-based software.
