concrete
solutions to industrial needs
Using its competencies
in editing software Optis developed an optical consultancy
department and a photometric laboratory, which have both been working
in partnership with our customers from the feasibility study to
the industrialization
of the product since 1989.
Patent
research and analysis
OPTIS supports its customers in researching and analysing demands
for patents in a technical field relating to optics. The aim of
the research is to analyse all the previous patents accurately in
order to make sure that the design is always creative and original.
Principle research and feasibility study
OPTIS has created new architectures and principles which allow us
to meet the specifications of our customers at the very best. Here
the software tool can guarantee a validation of results and then
show a technical feasibility.
The feasibility study is based on both our optical knowhow and our
simulation tools which lead to a complete technical answer taking
into account size fitting problems, energetic aspects as well as
tolerances on components and their positioning all that in
order to find out the best solution :
- simulation
- optimisation of results
- evaluation of manufacturing and positioning
tolerances (optical and mechanical).
Measures
In order to guarantee optimal results for your future product, OPTIS
has acquired measuring tools to characterise light sources and materials/light
interaction.
Measures can be on :
- retro-scattering characteristics of light with the BRDF measure,
- scattering characteristics of light with the BSDF measure,
- emittance, intensity and luminance of sources,
- spectrum of sources.
Those characterisations enable us to obtain reliable parameters
for simulation as well as to check the conformity of the product
with its specifications.
Our laboratory will also be able to carry out a series of photometric
measures on your prototypes so that the expected results can be
guaranteed.
multiple
competencies within
a single department
Studying and making prototypes or demonstrators
OPTIS offers you the possibility to make prototypes or demonstrators
from solutions found in the feasibility study. OPTIS provides you
with its know-how on :
- the technical aspects of the demonstrator (electronic circuits,
optical components and mechanical drawings),
- helping you to reach the best compromise between skills and cost,
- suggesting and following up sub-contractors,
- building and adjusting the prototype,
- measuring and testing in order to validate the conformity with
the specifications.
This step enables us to check the conformity of the results
and tolerances with your specifications.
Industrialization study
After making and testing a prototype OPTIS takes part in the industrialization
process of the product in partnership with the manufacturer.
OPTIS gets particularly involved in the following :
- trying to reduce costs
- bringing up to standard all of the mechanical drawings
- drawing up assembly procedures
- drawing up adjusting procedures
- drawing up testing procedures
Making a reference model or a limited production
On request, OPTIS can also make either a reference model, which
will allow you to launch a initial industrialization
of the product, or even limited productions.
In such a case specific procedures proper to the product will be
elaborated in order to guarantee a high quality.
