Sensor systems are becoming more and more present in cars to enhance safety and inform the driver before his eye detects the danger.
They are used in intrusion and collision detection, road sign detection, and increasingly involve camera sensors. In driver assistance systems the use of IR lighting can help to see obstacles earlier in the night. They can help enlarge the field of vision, for example in the case of parking assistance systems.
OPTIS software has the ability to simulate the complete optical spectrum including UV and IR creating possible to simulate all kind of optical sensors used in driver assistance and vision systems. The sensor characteristics, like spectral sensitivity and resolution, are fully handled to provide the measured signal on which you will build your treatment.
The ability to model the lens system will allow you to take into account lens parameters such as distortion and focus effects.

OPTIS has adopted the International Color Consortium (ICC) standards, and applied them to its range of SPEOS Technology-based software.

The SPEOS technology is integrated in 3 of the world’s most widely used CAD software : SOLIDWORKS® and CATIA V5® by Dassault Systèmes, and Pro/ENGINEER® by PTC.
