ALMECO, one of the entrepreneurial world leaders in the production of components and sheet materials for the lighting engineering, solar applications, and decorative industries, today announces the presentation of their unique virtual catalog for lighting solutions, developed with OPTIS, at light + building 2018. Held on March 18-23 in Frankfurt, Germany, Light + Building will gather key players in the lighting and architecture industry from across Europe. ALMECO will contribute its technology to the show and demonstrate its lighting reflectors and solutions virtually for the first time.

The collaboration between the two companies is the outcome of a long-term relationship. Since 2006, the Italian company trust OPTIS’ for its expertise in optical simulation. ALMECO extensively uses OPTIS’ flagship software, SPEOS, capable of providing light simulation based on the physical laws of optics, for the design and engineering of their aluminum reflectors, unique in the lighting industry.

“Directly integrated into SOLIDWORKS, OPTIS’ SPEOS is the best-renowned solution on the market to design and experience your future product even before it exists” explains Jacopo Mori, Engineering and New Projects Manager at Almeco Group. “Because it is based on the physical laws of optics, you get ultra-realistic renderings of your future product and make early decisions on your product’s material and texture. That is why we use OPTIS’ solution: to showcase our aluminum expertise in life-like conditions”.

Product innovation occupies a prominent position in the ALMECO strategy that, over the years, has devoted a significant proportion of revenue to research and continuous development of solutions. The company is always striving to bring the best of technology to the design of their reflectors that promptly respond to their clients’ specific requirements. Today, the new capacities of the latest SPEOS release makes it possible to experience and test re-flectors in virtual reality. ALMECO’s customers can now explore several use cases of the reflectors in complete immersion and have a precise idea of the aspect and effect of the reflector’ capacities in its final environment.

“Today, virtual reality simulations are indispensable tools to get an accurate representation of consumer products manufacturers and to design merchandising programs that truly meet the needs of customers,” comments Julien Duchene, Business Development Manager at OPTIS. “We are thrilled to be able to help ALMECO showcase their products and materials through ultra-realistic simulations and a virtual reality exploration for a real-life rendering.”

Try for yourself a unique life-like immersion into ALMECO’s virtual showroom, Hall 4.0, and ask for a meeting to our experts available at the fair. For more information about the project, please visit: https://marketing.optis-world.com/acton/fs/blocks/showLandingPage/a/17674/p/p-00ed/t/page/fm/0
